There is not a lot happening in the streaming scene this week, yet if you’re someone who enjoys variety from drama and mystery to comedy and crime thrillers then you can get your fair share. Several new shows and returning favourites are arriving across platforms like Apple TV+, Prime Video, ZEE5, Netflix, and JioHotstar, and they’re bringing with them plenty of twists, turns, and entertainment.
Let’s start with The Buccaneers season 2, which drops on June 18 on Apple TV+. The story follows a group of American girls living in 1870s Britain. They’re now settled into high society, but their lives are anything but calm. Nan is a duchess now, but secrets from her past and a complicated love life are making things tough. Jinny is running away from a violent husband while dealing with pregnancy. There’s also a same-sex romance that society refuses to accept, and a mysterious new woman who might shake things up even more.
On the same day, Prime Video is releasing We Were Liars, a thriller based on the best-selling novel by E. Lockhart. It’s about a girl named Cadence who returns to her family’s private island after losing her memory in an accident. As she reconnects with her group of friends, she starts to uncover dark secrets about what really happened two summers ago. It’s one of those shows that looks picture-perfect on the outside but hides something very messy underneath.
Then on June 20, we have Detective Sherdil on ZEE5. Diljit Dosanjh plays a funny yet clever detective solving a murder in Budapest. With a star-studded cast and lots of drama, this one promises to be both entertaining and full of surprises.
Also releasing on June 20 is Found season 2 on JioHotstar. The lead character, Gabi, helps find missing people. But now her own dark secret is out, and things are getting personal. The cases are intense, and the emotions are high.
And don’t miss Kerala Crime Files: The Hunt for CPO Ambili premiering on June 20 on JioHotstar. It’s a Malayalam thriller where a missing police officer and a blood-stained phone kick off a gripping mystery. Definitely worth watching.
For comedy lovers, The Great Indian Kapil Show returns with season 3 on June 21 on Netflix. Kapil Sharma is back with his whole gang, and this time both Archana and with his controversial return, Sidhu are together on the show, which guarantees even more laughs and chaos.
