Variety now states that Ruffalo misspoke and the fans can discard the chances of him coming back. You can definitely question the authenticity of both parties as one of them might always be an attempt to hide the future plan.

On the other hand, if you are one of those ‘marks’ who always wants a solo Hulk film, don’t get your hopes up at all.
Ruffalo clearly stated there is no chance of him getting a solo film. Even Ruffalo backed the statement with Kevin Feige’s affirmation of not getting the solo film.
