Fans of the beloved sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ experienced myriad emotions when its reboot series ‘How I Met Your Father’ was announced last year. Some were excited with the prospect; a few were outright unhappy that their favourite sitcom was getting a gender-switched reboot; but the majority of fans adopted a wait-and-watch attitude towards ‘How I Met Your Father’.
The same is with HIMYM fans in India. Except for a catch – How I Met Your Father is a Hulu Original, and Hulu doesn’t stream in India. How then are Indian fans to watch the How I Met Your Mother reboot?
Well, looks like Indian OTT viewers will also be able to watch Hulu’s How I Met Your Father on an Indian streaming service. Disney Plus Hotstar announced this morning that it will bring HIMYF on its platform for the benefit of discerning viewers in India, and that too, on the same date and time as the US! How cool is that!
How I Met Your Father will begin streaming on 18th January, 2022 on Hulu in the US. As India is almost 12 hours ahead of US time, the show will premiere the next morning on Disney Plus Hotstar in India – which is the morning of 19th January. Initially, Hulu will drop 2 episodes of How I Met Your Father on the platform, and then one episode per week, subsequently.
In the near future, Sophie (Hilary Duff) is telling her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
