When Netflix And Tomb Raider’s Director Get Together, Sparks Fly!!

Netflix gets together with ‘Tomb Raider’ and ‘The Wave’ director Roar Uthaug for its upcoming Norwegian feature film ‘Troll’. Netflix announced today that this action-adventure Norwegian language film will release sometime in 2022 on the platform.

Troll is a fantasy fiction drama about a mammoth monster and how an eclectic group of heroes must come together to stop it from wreaking deadly havoc. As per the official synopsis, “Deep inside the mountain of Dovre, something gigantic awakens after being trapped for a thousand years. Destroying everything in its path, the creature is fast approaching the capital of Norway. But how do you stop something you thought only existed in Norwegian folklore?”

Roar Uthaug, who himself belongs from Norway, says, “Troll is an idea that has been developing in the back of my mind for over 20 years. To finally be able to realize it with the enthusiastic and ambitious people at Netflix and Motion Blur is truly a dream come true. I can’t wait to unleash this Norwegian monster on the world.”

Troll will be produced by Motion Blur’s Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud. Motion Blur is a leader in Scandinavian market known for its projects like Cadaver (2020) Amundsen (2019), The 12th Man (2018) and the TV series Oil Fund (2018).

Talking about ‘Troll’ the producers said, “We are thrilled to bring Troll to life, a Norwegian fairy tale figure, played, directed and produced by Norwegians for the global market. We at Motion Blur are ecstatic to finally announce this collaboration with director Roar Uthaug and Netflix”.
