Prime Video makes so many shows of mass appeal yet they are too inconsistent. They are currently making too much noise in the digital space, particularly because of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.
But that is a foreign show and now let’s talk about some Indian titles. Needless to say, all Indian shows/films on the platform are suffering because of The Lord Of The Rings The Rings Of Power. It is trending at number 1 and there is no way Indian titles can overpower that.
Regardless, the two most trending shows from India are Immature Season 2 and Crash Course. Both of them revolve around teen characters who are struggling with their studies, love lives, and more.
The same goes with Hostel Daze, again a Prime Video series, and Rasbhari. However, Rasbhari has a slightly different concept but the target audience is teens who watch it secretly nonetheless.
Even after so many shows based on teens, Prime Video shows more or less fail to create a buzz amongst them the way Kota Factory did.
Why is that?
The answer is marketing and relatability.
Prime Video is slothy when it comes to promoting Indian series. They hardly try to create a buzz and it is pretty obvious. Mind The Malhotras Season 2 was announced just two days before the release date and similar is the condition of many shows.
The problems faced by students get too glamorized in their shows and that’s why they fail to relate to those characters. It does not just love life but study too which matters to them.
But the cheesy premise and glamorized characters spoil all.
