One of the largest footballing tournaments in the world, the 2020 UEFA Euros will be taking place during this year, starting from June 2021 till July 2021. The Euros, which were expected to take place last year, had to be postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing global crisis – the Coronavirus pandemic. Now, the 2020 European competition has been rescheduled to take place during this year and we can’t wait to see Portugal defend their Euro title as Champions.
The UEFA Euros or UEFA European Championship is one of the largest football sporting events in the world which features men’s national teams, second only to the World Cup. But unlike the World Cup, this once-in-every-four years set event only features countries from Europe and Eurasia. The qualifiers for the countries are over and the 24 teams have been selected. The entire competition will be available for streaming on Sony LIV.
The 2020 Euros will feature 51 matches across 12 cities in Europe – Saint Petersburg, Bucharest, Budapest, London, Rome, Bilbao, Baku, Copenhagen, Dublin, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Munich. The finals of the Euros will take place at the famous Wembley stadium in London. The 24 teams will be split into 6 groups as follows:
Group A: Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Wales
Group B: Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Finland
Group C: Ukraine, Netherlands, Austria, Play-off D or Play-off A winner
Group D: England, Croatia, Czech Republic, Play-off C winner
Group E: Spain, Poland, Sweden, Play-off B winner
Group F: Germany, France, Portugal, Play-off D or Play-off A winner
Play-off A Winner – Hungary
Play-off B Winner – Slovenia
Play-off C Winner – Scotland
Play-off D Winner – North Macedonia
The Euros will stream in India on Sony LIV from 11th Jun 2021 till 11 July 2021.
