Why Does The Broken News Need A Hard Marketing Push From Zee5?

Zee5 is bringing another original show called The Broken News. It will be a jibe at the current media which cares just about sensationalism and never the ethics which are supposed to be there.

The show is helmed by Aranyak director Vinay Waikul and is a loose adaptation of the British series “Press”. So Zee Studios and BBC Studios have partnered for making this original.

Needless to say, the teaser is very tempting and promises to unravel the brutal face of Indian media. Something which Kartik Aryan‘s Dhamaka also tried.

But it’s been over a few days since the teaser and it seems to have failed in creating an impact on the netizens. Currently, Zee5 is the most trending OTT platform with multiple big releases. Their May started with Jhund and then epic blockbusters like The Kashmir Files and RRR joined. John Abraham’s Attack is yet to hit them this month itself.

But seeing the low buzz, it’s an alarming sign for the streamer. When it comes to making original shows then Zee5 always lags behind Amazon Prime Video or Disney+Hotstar. But, this need not be the fate of the platform as it certainly deserves more.

They must learn from Netflix India which is phenomenal at creating buzz around their content.

The overall message is, that the marketing team of Zee5 needs to make some noise. They can’t expect to win over the Indian market by simply posting the teaser and character posters.
