Telugu film industry like every other industry suffered very badly during the Lockdown. Many notable films opted to skip their theatrical release and stream online directly. Sreekaram is on such film which suffered but waited for theaters to open. Sharwanand explains what they went through during those times.
“Firstly, we had to finish some portions of the film after the Lockdown. All my films are made on modest budgets. They will be success even of they land on OTT or in the theaters. So, my producers are not so worried and wanted the theaters to open,” Sharwanand said.
When asked about foraying into OTT or producing OTT related content, Sharwanand said, “Frankly I am too occupied right now. I am busy with five projects in Telugu right now. Three of them will release this year and even the fourth one may release. So, I do not have time”.
Sreekaram is a film which stresses about the need of current generation to look towards farming. Sharwanand plays the role of a young man who gives up a lucrative IT job and takes up farming in his native village. A newcomer Kishor directs the film which was largely shot in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh state.
