You guys should know by now, the Nani starring action-drama feature ‘Tuck Jagadish’ is premiering in the evening, today (9th September 2021) on Amazon Prime Video. While ‘Tuck Jagadish‘s’ direct-to-OTT release announcement came as a surprise to many, the film production’s decision to release the movie on Amazon Prime Video was not. Because, even though Aha Video is one of the leading regional platforms (if not, then THE leading regional platform) for Telugu content, the production houses didn’t even look towards them when Amazon Prime Video came calling. Here are the reasons why Amazon Prime Video is the better option for streaming ‘Tuck Jagadish‘:
Nani’s South-Indian Appeal
Nani has become a certified South Indian superstar after the success of various genre films like ‘Jersey’, ‘Nani’s Gang Leader’ and ‘Ninnu Kori’. With all three films (among others) having been well received in South India, it makes sense to release the movie on Amazon Prime Video, since a lot more non-Telugu subscribers can be found there, rather than in Aha Video.
Redemption for ‘V’
‘VA was the first direct-to-OTT released Telugu film that featured a Telugu superstar, which was Nani. While the film failed, it did help many film production companies to learn from their mistake and make better releases. Can’t seems to have done that with this new film and is ready to take on the streaming sector once more!
Pan-Indian Coverage
The South Indian film Industries has been garnering attention with its brilliant content, all over the country. While ‘V’ failed, ‘Tuck Jagadish’ should be an excellent rebound feature for Nani to show his true acting prowess to the rest of the country.
Regional OTT vs International OTT
While Aha Video could release the film all over the world, the OTT platform doesn’t have the International pull of Amazon Prime Video. With English subtitles available for viewing from the very start, this movie will have a better International appeal (Aha Video tends to release English subtitles much later, primarily catering to their Telugu subscribers).
Check out ‘Tuck Jagadish’ today, on Amazon Prime Video when it premiers at 7 pm.
