Why Users Are Frustrated With Prime Video?

Indian Prime Video users are facing a new headache and it is the recently implemented device limit. Amazon has now capped accounts to five devices, out of which only two can be TVs. Want to add more?

You’ll have to buy another subscription.

And that’s not all. There’s also a limit on how often you can remove devices. Only two devices can be removed per month, which has left many subscribers baffled.

Imagine this: Your smart TV malfunctions, or you upgrade to a new device. You’d think removing the old one would be simple, right?

Wrong.

If you’ve already removed two devices that month, you’re stuck until the next cycle. Families with multiple members are hit even harder.

If a household has more than five users wanting to stream on different devices, they have no choice but to get multiple subscriptions—something that feels unfair for Indian families, where shared entertainment has always been the norm.

OTT policies like these are not just new to India but even Western countries are still adjusting to similar restrictions. No password sharing, device caps—these rules make sense for businesses, but users feel they should come with more flexibility.

Right now, the rigid limitations don’t take into account real-life situations. For many, entertainment is a shared experience, not an individual one.

But we are very sure that these changes are not going to be taken back.
