SPOILER WARNING!
The final episode of DCEU’s Peacemaker series is out now. It was loaded with insane blood-splashing action, rated-R humour, and a lot of heartwarming moments. But there was one thing that blew the minds of the viewers. Yes, we are talking about Justice League’s surprise appearance at the end of the finale. We watched Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Superman arriving at the ‘sonic-boomed’ Butterflies’ base. However, Batman didn’t come there. The absence of The Caped Crusader in Season 1’s final episode tells a lot about the direction in which DCEU is planning to go. Let’s dive deep into this mess!
Batman‘s been an integral part of Justice League for decades. We cannot even imagine this group of superheroes without The Dark Knight. So, where was he? Well, there are a lot of theories about this scenario. But the most prominent and trendy one is Warner Bros’ plan to launch DC’s Multiverse with Ezra Miller’s upcoming project, The Flash. Various reports have confirmed that the studio is no longer interested in Ben Affleck’s Batman. In fact, the movie’s events may result in Affleck’s exit from the DCEU continuity. His death in the film is also on the cards. Andy Muschietti’s upcoming superhero directional may feature the last appearance of Affleck’s Batman in DCEU.
Apart from Affleck, Michael Keaton is also a part of The Flash. These two Batmen will enter in DCEU’s current timeline as a result of Flash tampering with the Speed Force and also with the Multiverse. We are all familiar with Barry going back in time to save his mother hoopla. That event may lead up to something very chaotic in future DCEU instalments.
WB has not yet revealed anything about Affleck’s future in DCEU. But if we consider all the latest buzzes, then we may witness the last of the actor’s version of Batman in this superhero franchise with The Flash.
The time has come to shift our attention to the Peacemaker finale. Christopher Smith and the rest of his gang aid in demolishing the Butterflies’ base and butchering their ‘Holy Cow’ for good. Vigilante and Harcourt get seriously wounded. When the entire group prepares to leave, some members of the Justice League arrive at the scene. Obviously, those ‘d#ckheads’ were late. And the small convo between Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Ezra Miller’s Flash was just hilarious. And nope! That was not Henry Cavill in Superman’s suit!
Will Ben Affleck’s Batman appear in future DCEU projects? It all depends upon the events of The Flash. Peacemaker Season 1 is out now!
