The younger daughter of actor Kamal Haasan, Akshara Haasan, has had several film outings across Hindi and Tamil, but none could establish her credentials as a bankable actor. Despite an impressive start like Shamitabh alongside Dhanush and Amitabh, Vivegam with Ajith, Kadaram Kondaan with Vikram and others, the projects haven’t translated into commercial successes.
It is quite obvious that the digital medium is the last resort for her to salvage her career now. She couldn’t have timed the release of her Zee5 original Fingertip (to release on August 21) any better. The promos and trailers of the first season of the series have promised something very intriguing, discussing perils of the online world, the desperation for validation across social media platforms.
She’s accompanied by actress Sunaina, who, in the shoes of a housewife, also plays a pivotal role in the series. Noted director Vishnu Vardhan is producing the same. It’s important to note that none of Zee5’s originals in the South has become popular or a rage among audiences. So, this is a firm test for both Zee5 and Akshara Haasan alike.
