It’s not been a while since Marvel actor Simu Liu joined the all-star-cast of one of the most anticipated upcoming movies from Warner Bros “Barbie”. The latest news is that veteran actor Will Ferrell is the newest addition to the star-cast of the biggie.
The first live action film based on the doll, the romantic comedy centers on the iconic doll line and stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken respectively. America Ferrara, Kate McKinnon and Simu Liu are also a part of this Greta Gerwig directorial.
Greta Gerwig is back to direction around 4 years after her critically acclaimed “Little Women” (2018). However for now it is unknown who Ferrell will be playing. Ferrell in all likelihood could be playing the CEO of a toy company that may or not be Mattel. Gerwig also co-wrote script with her partner Noah Baumbach.
Although Plot details are not divulged yet, we are pretty sure Greta will add her midas touch to the doll-story. We have seen how she gave a feminist touch to the multiple times reiterated “Little Women” novella.
Margot Robbie is producing the film under her LuckyChap Entertainment production alongside Mattel and Heyday Films. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film. Ferrell was last seen alongside Paul Rudd in Apple TV+ limited series “The Shrink Next Door”. He can also be seen next in Apple TV+ “Spirited”. Stay tuned for more updates.
