Netflix is all set with its next Indian true crime docuseries ‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ as the streaming giant dropped its teaser today. Helmed by Ayesha Sood, Umesh Kulkarni, Ashwin Shetty and Dheeraj Jindal, ‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ will premiere only on Netflix on 20th July, 2022.
A short video from ‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ offered a sneak peak into the horrors of serial killings in Delhi by an unafraid, unapologetic ruthless psychic murderer who did the crime and went on to inform the same to the police too while challenging the whole system.
The format in which the docu-series is shot looks very similar to ‘House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’ that came out on Netflix last year and stirred the nation once again after the original incident. The highlighted close-up of taunting notes the killer sent to the police, interviews of the people close and related to the case and glimpses from the original scene via old media footages, it all reminds one of the much acclaimed Burari documentary that sent chilled down everyone’s spine who watched it. But the question here is will this new docu-series be able to recreate the Burari horrors?
‘Indian Predator’ was among the 41 Indian original titles announced by Netflix last year and is one of the three first ever true crime docu-series from Netflix India. It will tell the story of serial killers in the country and ‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ is its first chapter.
‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ will tell the horrifying tale of a cold-blodded serial killer that shook not just the capital but the entire country. It’s the story of Delhi police’s hunt for a seasoned murderer with a grudge against the system who sent a series of mutilated bodies and taunting notes outside a Delhi jail.
Jointly produced by Vice Media and India Today, the trailer of ‘Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ is set to release tomorrow and will give a better sense of what the doc-series is all about until then watch the teaser here
’Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi’ will start streaming exclusively on Netflix from 20th July, 2022.
