“No reputation is bad reputation” is indeed true, and for a film like Bad Newz, appealing to the youth, it needed to get over with the social media crowd. And what makes social media go nuts? A good song that will inspire them to make Reels or YouTube Shorts. A film needs some catchy songs to hook the audience.
For example, Brahmāstra had “Kesariya” and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke had “Tere Vaaste,” which gave them a major boost. Bad Newz has its fair share of popularity with a song like “Tauba Tauba,” which is gaining traction on Instagram.
But will it help the film boost its success?
On paper, the audience is excited about the upcoming film, especially with the level of comedy it promises. Besides that, it will barely have any competition in the market. With the catchy song it pulled off, younger people have already made up their minds to watch it.
Just to talk about the impression of the song: on Instagram, around 1.5 million people have made videos using it. Imagine how many people have actually watched those videos. If even a small percentage of that number comes and watches it in theaters, Bad Newz will be a hit. And we’re just talking about the Instagram crowd. Imagine how much reach it got on Facebook.
If Bad Newz can carry this hype until the 19th of July, it has no reason to be unsuccessful.
