Movies come and movies go. Not only do they leave lasting impressions on the audience, but the head-on battles that multiple titles releasing in the same time window become a part of, often leave viewers buzzed and desperate for more! However, what happens in the lack of such competition, especially in a country with a plethora of regional industries like ours?
‘Devara: Part 1’, an upcoming Telugu-language film, and a highly anticipated one at that, from director Koratala Siva stars big names like Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Chaitra Rai, Shine Tom Chacko, Shruti Marathe, and more. Although the presence of prominent Bollywood actors in the cast gives the film a pan-India tag, will it be enough to sustain its box-office collection in the northern part of the country?
What’s more is that no other title is premiering in theatres the weekend ‘Devara’ is, i.e around September 27, except for another regional title. ‘Shukrana’, a Punjabi-language film starring Neeru Bajwa, Jass Bajwa, Amrit Maan, and more is also hitting theatres on September 27!
‘Devara’ undoubtedly has a competitive edge over ‘Shukrana’ due to its star cast, as well as its whopping INR 300 Crore budget. However, will it be successful in garnering audiences solely because of those facts? Or will the lack of options for the audience prove to be a factor in its box-office collections?
Only time will tell. Stay tuned for when it does!
