Fans of dear departed actor Sushant Singh Rajput have been clamouring for his last movie Dil Bechara to release in the theatres. But their hopes and wishes have been dashed by the makers, Fox Studios Hindi and Mukesh Chhabra. The movie has been sold to Disney Plus Hotstar, and Dil Bechara will now premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP on 24th July.
Still, diehard fans of the late actor are ready to try every resource to ensure that the wishes of their hero should come true. They are ready to knock on every door so that Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film gets its due respect in the form of a theatrical release – even the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Lawyer Ashish Satpute is one such fan who is trying all the tricks he can to keep fans’ wishes alive. He has written to National Human Rights Commission and requested the commission to intervene in the matter. He has requested the NHRC to stall the 24th July premiere of Dil Bechara on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP. He wants the NHRC to facilitate the release of the film in the theatres, and that too on an important festival date – traditionally, the most lucrative dates for theatrical film releases.
We agree that a theatrical release for Dil Bechara is the best tribute that the Indian public can pay in memory of Sushant Singh Rajput. A young talent has been snuffed out much before it was time for him to go, due to unhappy, unforeseen circumstances. But will the NHRC deem the matter important enough to intervene?
Let’s wait and watch. In the meanwhile, July 24th remains the date of release on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP, for Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film, Dil Bechara.
