Will Panni Be Able To Satisfy The Audience?

Directed by Adinath Kothare, “Panni” is an upcoming Marathi-language Indian movie. Which mainly deals with the water crisis.

This Marathi film won the National Award for ‘best film on environment conservation/preservation’ in 2019.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas on August 20th announced its release date.

The film follows the story of a common man living in a village plagued with drought. It revolves around his journey towards making the village a self-sufficient place, all while dealing with local goons and other disruptions of daily life.

Now the question may arise will Panni be able to deliver the message it longs for?

With Kothare’s directorial debut “Panni” can face subtle problems.

In 2013 a film was released named “Jal” it dealt with the same issue, where the protagonist has this ability to track down water in the backdrop of drought.

Although IMDb gave it a 6.6 rating, critics appreciate its poignant and powerful message.

Similarly, the 2017 movie “Kadvi Hawa” had a huge impact on the audience, the movie was directed by Nila Madhab Panda, and it was also based on true events which made it an even bigger deal.

“Kadvi Hawa” had such an impact that Times of India quoted, “With powerful dialogues by Nitin Dixit and achingly beautiful lyrics by Mukta Bhatt, the film is an engrossing watch. For a serious film on global warming, Kadvi Hawa is non-preachy and entirely watchable.”

From IMDb it got a 7.9 rating.

Based on this whole analysis we have to keep in mind that all these movies are different and “Panni” can be a very influential movie of this time.

Because, we have to remember that art and movies are the reflection of the time.

The way “Jal”, “Kadvi Hawa”, dealt with the issue of water crisis, they can be a big opponent to “Panni”.

But, to decide whether it delivered its message or not we have to wait until October 18th.
