Marvel Studios, led by Kevin Feige, are said to have a Midas touch. Everything they touch turns gold. However, in the end, they are human. There have been instances when an MCU movie has not met fans expectations. Out of the movies released recently, ‘Eternals’ failed to live up to the hype and was not well received. As far as Marvel shows are concerned, in their limited and short history, most shows have been received reasonably well. Wandavision, Loki, Hawkeye, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – all these shows have received positive responses. But are Marvels set to have the first failure in their TV universe?
A report from media outlet Direct suggests there are rumours of creative issues with the ‘She-Hulk’ show during its post-production process. These claims are reported by Jeff Sneider, former Variety and Collider reporter, on his podcast.
Sneider suggested that his sources have heard that “the She-Hulk series is not shaping up to be very good,” but also that he has “heard [it] more than once.” His sources specifically mention how they always hear that “She-Hulk is the one that could be a problem” out of all the upcoming Disney+ series.
She-Hulk, a 10-episode series to be released in mid-2022, stars Tatiana Maslany as the titular character. Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Jameela Jamil also star.
Reports of the show not shaping up to be very good are only rumours and not officially confirmed at this point. Sneider himself clarifies that this is how even makers of Guardians of the Galaxy would have felt only for it to become one of the most successful MCU franchises. Even if these rumours are true, the producers at Marvel Studios could still pull off a fix. With Marvel’s track record and high success rate, one may write off this show only at their own peril.
