Shoorveer is just a few days away from getting released. The epic scale and intriguing concept are looking promising but there is something worrisome about the series.
Divided attention can kill the individual performance of any series and here, Shoorveer is coming up with its maiden season. But the threat to the highly anticipated show is not something from outside but another show from Hotstar itself.
We are talking about Parampara Season 2 which drops on July 21st, thus giving only a six-day window to Shoorveer.
Now, this is a problematic situation because Parampara is a highly popular series. It is watched not only in original Telugu audio but also in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam as well. Adding to that, it is one of the few series on the web which has dedicated audios for Bengali and Marathi too.
So, even apart from getting popularity, it promises a greater reach than Shoorveer whose audio availability in different languages is still a mystery.
But given the subscriber base of Hotstar, it is no wonder that even a less popular show on their platform garners more views than a mega-popular show on some other platform.
It will be interesting to see how they create a balance between Parampara Season 2 and Shoorveer, as “timing” is important.
