Warner Bros. has dropped the trailer of its upcoming biographical drama ‘King Richard’ and the film looks extremely promising. ‘Monster and Men’ filmmaker Reinaldo Marcus Green has directed the film with Will Smith producing and starring in it.
The trailer shows how Richard Williams (Will Smith) has elaborate plans for his daughters Venus and Serena Williams to turn them into future tennis superstars. While no one believes in him and the girls initially, he keeps going on and on.
From writing a 78-page plan for their whole career before they were even born, rigorous practice sessions, fighting the world for his girls, backing them up no matter what, building confidence to telling them the relevance of what they represent, Richard Williams balances the role of a father, a coach and a friend effectively and effortlessly.
He wants his girls to earn the respect he never got and his mantra that a woman who knows how to think constitutes as the most dangerous creature on the whole earth is outright bomb.

The film stars two time Oscar nominee Will Smith (‘Ali’, ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’), Aunjanue Ellis (‘If Beale Street Could Talk’, ‘Quantico’), Saniyya Sidney (‘Hidden Figures’, ‘Fences’), Demi Singleton (‘Godfather of Harlem’), Tony Goldwyn (‘Divergent’) and Jon Bernthal (‘Ford Vs Ferrari’) among others.
Zach Baylin is the screenwriter for the film produced by Tim White and Trevor White under their Star Thrower Entertainment banner and Will Smith under his Westbrook banner. Executive producers for ‘King Richard’ are Isha Price, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith, Adam Merims, Lynn Harris, Allan Mandelbaum, Jon Mone and Peter Dodd.
‘King Richard’ will release in theatres in the US on 19th November, 2021 and on HBO Max simultaneously. It will be available on HBO Max for 31 days from theatrical release.
