Will Smith’s Emancipation Trailer Out Now! Check Details Inside

The official trailer for ‘Emancipation‘ is out now. It has Will Smith as its lead and Ben Foster, Mustafa Shakir, Steven Ogg, Irani Pullum in other important roles. The movie will premiere on Apple TV on the 9th of December this year.

The trailer looks great with beautiful music and wonderful visuals. The cinematography and music is handled by Robert Rochardson and Marcelo Zarvos respectively. Will Smith looks promising in the lead role. The screenplay is written by William N. Collage.

‘Emancipation’ is a thriller that tells the story of a slave named Peter who tries to escape from his ‘white’ masters in search for his family and also joins the Union Army of Abraham Lincoln. For that, he has to cross the stamps of Louisiana and also survive hunger, tiring and the hunting dogs searching for him.

The movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who has previously directed movies like ‘Equalizer’, ‘Southpaw’, ‘The Magnificent Seven’, ‘Training Day’ and more. The vintage black and white look is nothing new for Apple TV. Earlier, The Tragedy Of Macbeth, starring Denzel Washington was also made completely in black and white.

There was a huge controversy regarding the film when the first teaser was released. Will Smith’s accent was said to be fake and forced by some Twitter users and the subject of slavery was not too comfortable for some. This outrage may also be the outcome of the slap incident at the Academy Awards night. Emancipation was nearly shelved for the incident.
