Will Tandav Lend Steam To The Socio-Political Genre In Indian OTT

The stage is set for the next uber-intense drama “Tandav”. Releasing on the 15th of January Tandav is the upcoming Indian web series that will be streaming online on Amazon Prime Video. The show already is making headlines and fans have been waiting for it since a still from the series came out last year, with Saif Ali Khan, Sarah-Jane Dias, and Sunil Grover in the frame. As the teaser and trailer dropped in one after the other, we could sense that it was going to one dramatic and loaded show.

Coming to the basics that it is focusing on, Tandav belongs to the socio-political genre. A genre that hasn’t been fully explored at the moment and this show seem like it will make a good impact on it. Living in a country like India, where if one doesn’t even want to know or discuss politics, gets pulled in into it. The situations are always in such a way that politics grabs way more attention in India, then probably any other drama. This is always the burning topic in any conversation.

Every other day there is a talk of power, motive, agendas in politics that goes on and spreads around the country like wildfire. As the past years have seen a serious discussion being held around politics and political issues, it seems like the right time now to start educating more and more people through the means of series and movies.

Series and movies are one of those mediums that are easily accessible to the younger generation right now in the country. A good show with powerful, impactful, and sensible topics can definitely earn a lot of views and can set an example. Tandav, with its story plot and the way it might go, seems to be one promising political series. Now, as politics already is involved, the social issues will definitely come up and as it comes up people will relate to it even more. This is the power of involving politics and basing anything around it.

With all that being said, Tandav with its impeccable ensemble cast, seems like it will not fail people’s expectations. Starring Saif Ali Khan as a power-hungry politician going against the smart, strong, and calculative woman named Anuradha, played by the evergreen Dimple Kapadia, Tandav also stars Sunil Grover, Sarah-Jane Dias, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kumud Mishra, Gauhar Khan, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Dino Morea, Anup Soni, Kritika Kamra, Paresh Pahuja, Shonali Nagrani, Hiten Tejwani, Amyra Dastur and Neha Hinge. With Tandav, the brilliant filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar will be making his digital debut and it can already be presumed that this show will reflect his talent and precision in creating greatness.

Looking forward to 15th January, a lot of hopes are riding high on this upcoming drama. How good will it be? How expressive will it be? Will it show resemblances with our current political scenario? Everything can only be answered when the show will be out.
