The year has been a pretty violent one with the release of films that are filled with violence, blood and gore. Raayan, Kill, Maharaja etc. some of the films that were filled with generalised violence. As the year comes to its summit, we have yet another venture awaiting which is filled with violence and gore. Yudhra, which is set to release towards the end of the month, is an action thriller starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan and along with them Raghav Juyal, Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun and Shilpa Shukla.
Though we have had multiple violent films and films with elements of violence this year, still the makers are persistent in presenting before us another work of the same manner. On this, a question arises, is the Indian audience bored of such films, or the film indeed fulfils the demand of the market?
This year all the violent films that were released were all very well received by the audience. Raayan in fact, was a record breaker of the time. Kill too received a lot of praise in spite of it being filled with cruel killings. These films are rated as movies for adults, but many school going kids too watch these movies. These kids especially like such movies. People have always had a liking for such movies and slowly in the Indian context, violent movies are going on to be the new normal genre for the audience.
Yudhra too prior to its release has received quite a good response from the people. The trailer of the movie has already received 32 million views on YouTube and about 250k likes. This shows that people are as excited for Yudhra as they were for other violent movies. The trailer for Yudhra declares the gore and blood spill it contains. Hence, the people who responded to the trailer indeed want such content.
Because violent movies have become kind of a new trend in India, it is safe to say that people are not (as of now) bored from violent and bloody content in films. In fact the truth is the opposite, as the audience seem to be demanding more of such content.
