Will The Bengali Industry Fully Exploit The Bollywood Gap This Puja

With the new big titles releasing this Puja, there are chances that the conditions of The Bengali box office improve a bit and it gets a considerable revenue from the upcoming films. There are three films that will be clashing in theaters. Dev’s ‘Tekka’ directed by Srijit Mukherjee is getting the actor in a unique look, form and character and fans are excited. Then there is the big budget crime drama ‘Bohurupi’ directed by Nandita and Shiboprosad which has huge anticipation in the rural areas. Mithun Chakroborty is coming with his upcoming film ‘Shashtri’ as well.

These movies will have an uninterrupted run for the first few days at theaters. The hype and the absence of big titles from other industries will work in favour of these bengali films. But not for long.

There are two imminent Hindi releases in this festive season. One is Alia Bhatt and Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’ and the other is Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri’s ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Wo Wala VIdeo’. The titles are quite hyped in Bengal too. And Vicky Vidya will have a huge engagement as it is a comedy film and people will like to watch a comedy like this during the holidays. Jigra too is an anticipated movie and these two titles may disrupt the business for the Bengali films. However, here will be no significant competition from other industries.

Shashtri will probably not be very popular among city people. The city halls will still be filled with fans when Bohurupi and Tekka will be released and hopefully the long drought of Bengali box office will go away. The brief gap in Bollywood releases must be exploited properly by the industry this time.
