TikTok fame Sachin Tiwari who became famous for his uncanny resembles to Sushant will play the lead role. The film’s cast was auditioned online due to the lockdown. It will be directed by Shamik Maulik and singer-music director Shraddha Pandit will be composing music for the film.
The poster released is a black and white silhouette of Sachin Tiwari being introduced as ‘The Outsider’. The film is being produced under Vijay’s banner VSG Binge. The film is not supposed to be a biopic but will be inspired from the life of the extremely talented late Sushant Singh Rajput.
Vijay Shekhar Gupta said, “Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide came as a shock to all of us, but it is not new. Many actors who come to the industry to accomplish their dreams of making it big here, end up not getting work. Many take this route, and some keep struggling all their lives. So, we wanted to tell a story of how actors from small towns, who don’t have godfathers in Bollywood, struggle. We will be revealing other characters one by one. I can assure you that this film will definitely unmask the real face of the insiders of Bollywood.”
The shooting will probably start in mid – September in Punjab and Mumbai and is planned for Christmas 2020 release. Whether the film will go for OTT release or theatre is yet to be announced.
