Eternals will return! There’s no doubt that Chloe Zhao’s take on Marvel’s extraterrestrial humanoids race didn’t sit well with a majority of MCU fans. And the highly divided response from the fanbase affected the movie’s box office intake. Numerous factors like the overabundance of characters, complicated plot, less knowledge about the cosmic beings, different approach from the Oscar-winning helmer, and many more were responsible for Eternals’ disappointing performance. This messy scenario forced the MCU fans to ponder over the future of these characters.
The climax of Eternals hinted at the return of these ancient cosmic beings in future MCU instalments. Gemma Chan recently appeared in an interview held by W Magazine, shedding some light on her possible returns to MCU. She was asked if she would play Sersi again, laughingly replying: Yes. Marvel owns us for life.”
It seems like Kevin Feige’s team is not done with Eternals yet. There’s no denying that the MCU is known to deliver proper solutions for previous mistakes. And fans believe that MCU will do the same with Eternals as well. Plus, many rumours have stated that the cosmic race of humanoids may appear in other MCU projects apart from Eternals sequel. It is not clear in which future Marvel films we will see them.
Eternals is coming on Disney+ Hotstar on January 12. It stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry, Kit Harrington, and many more talents.
