Wednesday is the second most-watched English series on Netflix ever. The series apart from being insanely successful on Netflix was also pushing old Wednesday films to trend on Paramount+ and Amazon Prime Video.
But a major problem arose a few days back. Wednesday is produced by MGM studios under Netflix. Quite recently, Amazon purchased MGM Studios. Needless to say, there were speculations about the second season of Wednesday coming on Amazon Prime Video instead of Netflix.
Although the official renewal is yet to be announced, it seems inevitable given the response to the show. Thus, the speculations as such even came into existence.
But we have a clear answer to this question.
No, the potential second season of Wednesday will not stream on Amazon Prime Video. It will stream on Netflix itself because the deal for upcoming seasons was signed long before Amazon even purchased MGM.
Also, Amazon is looking for developing content through MGM outside Prime Video as well. This also gives a chance to think about the same possibility but the earlier reason is much stronger in favor of Netflix than depending upon the lenience of Netflix.
Thus, relax and wait for makers to first announce Wednesday Season 2 then it will be out whether it comes on Prime Video or remains on Netflix.
