Do you believe in miracles? Believe it or not, Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 has done something miraculous. The sequel to the disastrous 2023 film somehow has outperformed its predecessor in every possible way. Its scores on Rotten Tomatoes are the proof.
Prominent US-based entertainment content provider, Fathom Events, released Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 in theatres on Tuesday. To everyone’s surprise, the sequel debuted with a ‘fresh’ 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on six reviews. Yes, this could have been a case of critics getting paid to write good reviews for the film. However, what makes this scenario even more interesting is that the movie has earned a 91% audience score, based on 50+ ratings. Now, that cannot be a coincidence.
The record-breaking RT score of Blood and Honey 2 is shocking, considering its 2023 predecessor scored only 3% on the Tomatometer, based on 62 reviews, and received positive approval from nearly 50% audience. But, it does not mean that the second entry is a cinematic masterpiece. However, it may find itself on the list of one of the most divisive films of 2024 shortly.
Not all movie critic platforms have been kind to the latest Winnie-the-Pooh sequel. On IMDb, the film has scored only 3.9 out of 10, based on 127 ratings. This scenario makes us wonder about the authenticity of Rotten Tomatoes. Are we looking at a case of a movie receiving fake reviews? Or is the sequel actually good? We will find out more about the film in the upcoming days.
Helmed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is the second entry to the Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU), serving as a horror reimagining of E. H. Shepherd and A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh novels. Stay tuned for more updates.
