Last month Netflix released a French Heist series called, “Lupin” and the series was so well received and appreciated that it will be coming back with the second season already in summer. As the people were already basking in the glory of this beautifully created series, “Call My Agent S4” made an entry, while it was a critically acclaimed drama for the first 3 seasons, season 4 made headlines for the various aspects it was focusing on. Now another, french dark comedy drama will be making an entry and it is called, “The Misadventures of Hedi and Cokeman.”
Netflix, here is playing a very smart game and it seems to be working perfectly well. As Netflix is entering various zones with it’s originals it quickly is becoming everyone’s favourite. With the Spanish hit shows like “Money Heist” and “Elite”, it exposed the world to Spanish shows. With “Dark” and “How To Sell Drugs Online”, people came across German shows. For once people were looking for content that wasn’t American or British. While for Asian content, it was already offering and continuously adding truckloads of KDramas and also adding Japanese Anime, two content from Asian countries that is loved worldwide.
Then there comes the Indian content, with expanding regional content, Netflix was making its presence known not only in India but also UAE, The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and other South Asian countries. This is the basic way, Netflix is spreading its coverage and the recent international show that has successfully attracted people is Lupin. Once in a while, it drops such shows that become international hits and for a while, the entire concentration stays with that.
This attention helps Netflix is gaining more and more viewers for that particular genre or say, region and it pulls out the best of the best content from it. This attention helps Netflix in gaining a market in situations when the shows could have been just simple regional hits.
No matter what, this helps Netflix in bringing refined shows to the people, regardless of the language it is being shown in and helps in garnering more and more subscribers for themselves.
