The series stars Bobby Deol in the lead and is tentatively named Dera. MX Player backs the show.
Sangram Singh, who is of Haryana origin, will play a key role in the series.
As the tentative title Dera suggests, the series is about self-proclaimed Godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Dera comes from the name of his religious group, Dera Sacha Sauda.
Noted director Prakash Jha helms the series. He’s the man behind a number of critically acclaimed hard-hitting films like Gangajal, Apaharan, Rajneeti, Aarakshan and Satyagraha.
Dera will mark his digital debut.
Apart from Bobby Deol and Sangram Singh, the series also features Anupriya Goenka, of Sacred Games and Padmavat fame, and TV actor Sachin Shroff.
The regular shooting of Dera commenced some time back. It is expected to wrap up in the coming month.
