Yami Gautam’s recent release ‘Article 370’ will soon be available to watch on OTT. The movie had its theatrical release on the 23rd of February and was a box office success. It is going to be streaming on Netflix from 19 April.
The movie is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and has its screenplay written by Aditya Dhar, Aditya Suhas Jambhale, Arjun Dhawan and Monal Thaakar.
‘Article 370’ tells the story of India’s Prime Minister abrogating the contriversial Article 370 which gave special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The movie follows the reaction of the militants and regular citizens of the state after the passing of the bill. Apart from Yami Gautam, it stars actors like Priyamani, Raj Arjun, Shivam Khajuria, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, Raj Zutshi, Salahuddin Jalal, Divya Seth. Arun Govil plays the role of Narendra Modi in the movie. The performances from Gautam and Priyamani are commendable.
The movie has been criticised for distortion of facts and a very visible favour for the Bharatiya Janta Party. The producer Aditya Dhar himself has said that the movie is not a factual documentation but a fictional account of what has happened. There has been a plethora of movies with a very one dimensional right winged narrative, with The Kerala Story, The Kashmir Files, Swatantrata Veer Savarkar and now Article 370. But one this is for sure, these movies are being accepted by a huge number of audiences.
