Renowned for her role in the 2021 dramedy ‘Mimi’, National Film Award winner Kriti Sanon is an Indian actress who primarily appears in Hindi and Telugu-language films. Most recently, she garnered a lot of fan acclaim following the release of her comedy titles ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ as well as ‘Crew’.
Her upcoming project is a highly anticipated one, and for multiple reasons. Not only is it Meena Kumari aka The Tragedy Queen’s biopic, but it is also Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s directorial debut! However, due to unfortunate reasons, the title about one of the finest and greatest actresses in the history of Indian cinema has been delayed. Again!
The filming has been shifted from October 2024 until the beginning of 2025. Originally scheduled to have launched in October 2023, the film has already experienced a one-year delay.
Script refinement has been cited as the major reason for this delay. However, no matter how disheartened fans must be, they continue to anticipate Sanon’s first biopic with as much enthusiasm as before.
The yet-untitled film will celebrate Kumari’s life and work, spanning an extensive 3-decade career that ended abruptly following her death in 1972. Apart from this, next up for Sanon is ‘Do Patti’, a mystery thriller opposite Kajol!
