TV and stage actor Mark Blum has died of complications arising out of the Coronavirus infection. The 69-year old actor passed away yesterday, after battling the COVID-19 infection for some time.
The actor had appeared in popular movies like Crocodile Dundee and Desperately Seeking Susan in his earlier days. In recent times, he had played character roles in scores of TV and digital shows.
He played the role of Mr. Mooney, the bookstore owner and Joe Goldberg’s (Penn Badgley) creepy father figure, in Netflix’s hit stalker thriller ‘You’. He was also seen in audience favourites, Law and Order, Succession, Billions, The Good Fight, and numerous other shows. He is a part of the soon-to-be-released Billions Season 5, which will count as one of his last posthumous appearances. Billions streams in India on Hotstar Premium.
Tributes for the genial actor poured in on Twitter. Pop star Madonna, his co-star in Desperately Seeking Susan, posted a moving tribute, as did Mark Hamill, besides other actors.
