This move by Netflix and the makes of this movie is to mark the 51st anniversary of the verdict in the real trial in 1970. The writer Aaron Sorkin said in a statemet, “It’s our honor to share their story with the world.” The legal drama centers around seven men (anti-Vietnam protesters) charged in 1969 with inciting riots at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago. They were put to trial after peaceful protests turned into full-blown violence.
