Just a few weeks back, the creators of the franchise announced that they are bringing in Spider-Man from the ’90s popular animated series, voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes in the second installment. And now, we have learnt that Issa Rae, the famed American Youtuber and actress Joined the voice cast of the same as Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman, in addition to Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy who’s known as Spider-Gwen.
Issa Rae will join hands with the cast from the first ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ movie, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld who are returning to reprise their roles of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen in the second installment. Those who are not familiar with the character of Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman, it was created by Archie Goodwin and Marie Severin for Marvel comics and debuted in 1977. Jessica Drew developed superhuman powers patterned after several types of spiders when she was born, after her mother who was pregnant with her, was struck with a beam of radiation containing the DNA of several different types of spiders. Jessica is superhumanly strong and has an ability to lift upto seven tons. Jessica also possesses superhuman hearing and smell with extreme immunity from injuries. She also debuted in the comic book event ‘Spider-Verse’ in 2014 and that’s the reason, the makers of the second installment of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse are interested in including her in the latest superhero roster.
