It was late September, 2020 when Yash Raj film announced a huge project featuring Ajay Devgan and debutant Ahaan Pandey which will essentially be a Superhero movie. It was supposed to be the first collaboration between Aditya Chopra and Devgan. But sadly, fans won’t be able to see at least Ajay Devgn in that project now as he reportedly opted out.
On completion of 50 years of Yash Raj Films in Indian Film Industry, YRF announced YRF Project 50 which included the blueprints of several huge projects including this one. It is supposed to be the first Superhero movie produced under YRF banner.
But now, it looks like the protagonist of the film, which will be played by Ananya Pandey’s cousin, Ahaan Pandey will have another actor to play the role of the antagonist as Ajay Devgan has left the project.
As per the reports, Devgan had verbally agreed to be a part of veteran director Rahul Rawail’s son Shiv Rawail’s unnamed superhero movie and the film is supposed to be made in a massive budget of Rs.180 crores which would have been one of the costliest films for Ajay Devgan.
But now, as per the sources, “Ajay had never signed on the dotted line. He had a powerful role, too. But now, it seems he doesn’t have dates to allot to the project. Adi doesn’t want to push the film any further since Ahaan also has been waiting for a few years now. They were still trying to chalk out a plan that could work out both for the superstar and the banner but at this point, it seems improbable.”
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgan is extremely busy with a lot of projects such as RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Mayday, Thank God, Bhuj: The Pride Of India along with his first ever venture to web series titled Rudra – The Edge of Darkness, scheduled to release on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
As the sources revealed that his dates are blocked till almost end of this year with all these projects and it seems Ajay won’t be able to accommodate the Shiv Rawail directorial anymore.
