The buzzy, hotly awaited spy caper ‘War 2′ finally has a release date! The YRF film will hit theatres on 14th August, 2025, as an Independence Day treat for fans of Yash Raj Films’ popular ‘SpyVerse’. Brahmastra director Ayan Mukherji is directing War 2.
Spy action thriller film ‘War 2’ is one of the most eagerly anticipated films in Hindi cinema, for several reasons. First and foremost, it will see the hunky Greek God Hrithik Roshan reprise his role of Indian Intelligence Agent, Kabir. Secondly, it stars one of the most popular faces in Indian cinema, Jr NTR (N. T. Ramarao Junior), also known as Tarak, in the form of the primary antagonist facing off against Kabir. Kiara Advani plays the female lead in War 2.
War 2 will be the seventh film in Yash Raj Films’ spy films universe, fondly called as spyverse. The events of the film will take place after the events of the recent film, Tiger 3. War 2 will be a sequel to the 2019 film ‘War’, that had generated mass hysteria upon release, among fans of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Pathaan director Siddharth Anand had directed War.
Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 had a short post-credits scene which teased the plot of War 2. Ashutosh Rana’s Colonel Luthra speaks to Special Agent Kabir on the phone, describing an antagonist who is the most cruel and dangerous ever. We then get a delicious glimpse of Hrithik Roshan as Kabir. Colonel Luthra’s description alone makes one eager to know what Jr NTR’s antagonist will bring to the table in War 2.
