YRF’s ‘Shamshera’ & ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ Get New Release Dates

A few days back, we had shed some light on the mystery that had shrouded the release of Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming action-adventure film ‘Shamshera’, whose release date was stated on the official website of Yash Raj Films as June 25, 2021.

We were expecting some news from the makers regarding the film’s release update. And it seems that our query has been answered, for the time being at least. And it’s not just for the theatrical release update of ‘Shamshera’ but also regarding Ranveer Singh’s upcoming social comedy film ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’.

While Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’ was to previously release on June 25, 2021, Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ was expected for a theatrical release on August 27, 2021. However, as per the modified release details, ‘Shamshera’ is currently slated to release on July 23, 2021. Whereas ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ is now expected to release on September 3, 2021.

Meaning thereby that ‘Shamshera’ has been postponed by almost a full month and ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ has been postponed by just one week. Whether the release dates may be modified by the makers again will probably depend on the prevailing pandemic situation.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, ‘Shamshera’ is being touted as a high-octane, edge of the seat, period action-adventure, which is set in the heartland of India and is said to contain some jaw-dropping action sequences.

While ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ (written and directed by Divyang Thakkar) will reportedly see Ranveer Singh essaying the role of a Gujarati man and supporting the cause of women empowerment, in a film that will ostensibly be driven by an entertaining narrative style.

Moreover, the exact release date for Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji is currently not stated in the relevant segment. While Akshay Kumar’s ‘Prithviraj’ has retained its earlier release date of November 5, 2021.

Besides, the film ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ starring Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra, which was helmed by Dibakar Banerjee, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
