The fans really wanted to see Snyder become DC’s undisputed king, but WB (now WBD) had no intention of handing him the throne. So, like the myths, the angel rebelled and is now banished to the red and black brand and is ruling it.
Throughout his latest venture, Netflix is backing up Zack Snyder, and the latest trailer for Rebel Moon looks like something of greatness. As the date is just around the corner for the first part of Snyder’s Sci-fi gig on Netflix, he teases one director’s cut.
“Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire” and “Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver,” both will have a PG-13 rating; Snyder won’t disappoint his fans. One master of the director’s cut confirms that he plans to release a longer R-rated version that can be streamed on Netflix at a later period.
“I’m super proud of the PG-13 version, the broader audience version because I would say it really satisfies an awesome, timeless, mythological scope,” Snyder said. “What we’ve done with the other version is fun and subversive because an R-rated sci-fi movie at this scale shouldn’t exist.”
Snyder also confirmed that the director’s cut will be an hour longer than the PG-13 versions and will also be more violent.
Snyder also confirmed that he and Netflix have been planning the cuts from the very beginning.
“This was the first time I had ever been able to make a movie and plan for that,” Snyder said. “The cut was not me fighting with them like, ‘Okay, you won’t do what I want. Can I at least release it on DVD?’ It was us going together.”
That is a tribute to his past employer who managed not only to kick the most passionate and visionary director for the project, but the fans were pissed off too. After years of Release The Snyder Verse chants, Snyder was allowed to work on it with limited resources and support from the cast.
