Zack Snyder’s Netflix sci-fi epic film ‘Rebel Moon’ has added new cast including replacement of Rupert Friend with Ed Skrein (‘Deadpool’, ‘Alita: Battle Angel’). Other new cast members are Fra Fee (‘Hawkeye’, ‘Les Misérables’), Rhian Rees (‘Halloween’, ‘Confession of a Child of the Century’) and Cleopatra Coleman (‘Dopesick’, ‘In the Shadow of the Moon’).
These latest additions will be joining the previously announced ensemble cast of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman and Alfonso Herrera.
With a story by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, Netflix’s ‘Rebel Moon’ is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
‘Rebel Moon’ is directed by Zack Snyder who has co-written the sci-fi adventure film with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. The film is produced by Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller and Zack Snyder for The Stone Quarry and Eric Newman for Grand Electric.
Executive producers for Netflix’s ’Rebel Moon’ are Bergen Swanson, Sarah Bowen for Grand Electric, Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. ‘Rebel Moon’ is the first feature to fall under the first look partnership between The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller, and Netflix.
