Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Gets A BIG Limited Theatrical Release!

Zack Snyder, known for his visionary and genre-defining films, is set to take audiences on an interstellar adventure with “Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire.” This space epic is making a bold move by setting a one-week theatrical run in select locations ahead of its Netflix debut, promising a cinematic experience like no other.

The film is scheduled to play exclusively on 70mm screens from December 15th to December 21st, and moviegoers in select cities will have the opportunity to witness this grand spectacle on the big screen. The chosen locations include iconic venues like the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, the Paris Theater in New York City, TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, and the Prince Charles Cinema in London. Notably, Netflix owns both the Paris Theater and the Egyptian Theatre, making this limited theatrical run a special event for fans and film enthusiasts alike.

Sadly, Indians won’t get to enjoy the film on the big screens. Because Zack Snyder is a well-known figure in the Indian entertainment space it will be a loss indeed. But it is what it is. Normally limited theatrical releases of Netflix films are limited to USA only but this one stretches even to Europe. This is the reason it is a “big” limited release.

“Rebel Moon” tells the tale of an enigmatic young woman living in a peaceful colony on the outer edges of the galaxy. She’s entrusted with the crucial task of assembling a group of warriors to defend against an impending invasion led by a tyrannical despot. The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Sofia Boutella, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, and Cary Elwes, under Snyder’s direction.

What’s particularly intriguing is Snyder’s assertion that “Rebel Moon” shares a universe with his previous Netflix endeavour, “Army of the Dead.” According to the director, “Army of the Dead” possesses a vast mythology that extends beyond what was shown in the film. In fact, there’s even a character from “Rebel Moon” making an appearance in the “Army of the Dead” animated series.

Snyder’s commitment to delivering an immersive experience for fans is evident in the two separate cuts of each “Rebel Moon” movie. One is designed for a broader audience, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the adventure. The second cut is more explicit and tailored for adult audiences.
