Zack Snyder’s Two ‘Rebel Moon’ Films Get Full Titles!

Zack Snyder is the creator behind a brand new fantasy sci-fi movie franchise for Netflix. This project has been in development for several years and originally started as an idea for Star Wars. Netflix has given the green light for two movies upfront, though the plan is to eventually have at least three films in the series. These two movies were filmed consecutively throughout the entirety of 2022.

You must have guessed, we are talking about Rebel Moon.

The release date for the first movie initially titled “Rebel Moon Part 1” was officially confirmed earlier this year in January. It’s positioned as one of Netflix’s major Christmas movies. To build anticipation for its release, new content related to the movie has been steadily unveiled throughout the year.

A significant reveal related to the movie is expected to occur at Gamescom, an event in late August that centers around video games. Zack Snyder himself confirmed that “Rebel Moon” would be present at Gamescom.

Since early 2022, when the news about the two movie productions emerged, the project has commonly been referred to as “Rebel Moon Part 1” and “Rebel Moon Part 2.” The titles of the movies are confirmed as “Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire” and “Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver.”

Interestingly, there has been a change in the subtitle for the first movie. Before Netflix TUDUM 2023, which happened in June 2023, the event’s marketing in Brazil included a subtitle for the first movie: “A Menina do fogo,” translating to “The Child [girl] of Fire.”

There’s also news about the progress of the second movie’s post-production. It’s rumored that Netflix is aiming for an April 2024 release for “Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver.”

“Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire” will be released on Netflix on December 22nd, 2023. Additionally, there are plans for a limited theatrical release, although that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. The first film is also expected to have an extended R-rated version.
