One of India’s prominent OTT platforms Zee5 was launched in India in February 2018. Last year, the popular platform commenced its services in the USA. Besides acquiring third-party titles, Zee5 has concurrently acquired a number of original Indian titles as well since the year 2018. And now, Zee5 has revealed its intentions of further exploring the Telugu OTT space by announcing an exciting content slate of eleven upcoming Telugu originals.
The list of the announced original titles spanning multiple genres also included the crime thriller ‘Recce’, which is set to start streaming from 17th June. Here is a list of the new titles announced by Zee5 along with their brief descriptions.
Set in the 1990s period in Tadipatri village, the seven-part crime thriller show follows the investigation into the murder of municipal chairman Varadarajulu by senior inspector Lenin (played by Sriram). Streaming from 17th June.
ATM
It’s a heist drama where a group of youngsters make it their mission to achieve a virtually impossible task and that too with a police officer on their trail.
Mission Tashaffi
The spy drama set in India and Afghanistan follows an intelligence agent who is on a mission to find several explosive devices planted in India and to catch the terrorist mastermind.
The Black Coat
The series follows the story of a young graduate and how he fights a case against a more experienced lawyer in his first court case.
Aha Naa Pellanta
An entertaining story that revolves around a man who has waited for his wedding day, but he gets dumped on the D-day.
Hello World
Set amidst the backdrop of Hyderabad’s IT sector, the plot of the light-hearted entertainer revolves around a group of techies who have just began their careers and features Aryan Rajesh, Sadha, Sudharshan and Nitya Shetty in the lead roles.

Zee5 OTT platform is known for its varied blend of shows in several Indian languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, and Marathi. So, this is not the first time Zee5 will become the streaming home to Telugu language shows. Previously, it has released several Telugu shows like ‘Gaalivaana’, ‘Oka Chinna Family Story’, ‘LOL Salaam’, ‘Shoot-Out at Alair’, and ‘Loser’, amongst others.
However, this is the first time that Zee5 is foraying into the Telugu streaming space in such a big way. An interesting move especially after the phenomenal streaming success of S.S. Rajamouli’s period actioner ‘RRR’. It remains to be seen whether the move will pay rich dividends to the OTT platform in the near future in the cut-throat world of Indian OTT.
