Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘India Lockdown’ trailer is out now and netizens are not happy at all. The film is based on the premise of what problems workers and ordinary people went through during the lockdown period of 2020. There are already multiple movies made on this subject internationally and even in India and they kind of told the same stories. It is very difficult to bring some new angle to this same plotline.
People are not at all interested in watching that same thing again, they would probably have been happier if they got to watch something made on what happened after the lockdown. The aftermath of the lockdown is a lesser touched subject in the film industry. But Zee5 takes up a cliche again and believes it will be successful.
Zee5 has taken a very outdated subject for the plotline of the film and even though it comes from a renowned director like Madhur Bhandarkar, there is very little chance of success here.
It will be difficult to gain a decent audience for such a cliche.
The lack of creativity is bringing heavy trolls to the platform. Even people are so angry that they are not showing their reactions to the original post by Zee5 but they are venting their angst elsewhere. Lots of great stories can be told on the premise of what happened after Lockdown or something else. But the lockdown thing is quite saturated now. And not many people want to relive their difficult period once again through a movie. Zee5 really needs to think about what the audience really wants and how to provide that with creativity.
