ZEE5 has just announced the launch of its next Pakistani-origin show under its ‘Zindagi’ brand. Titled ‘Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam’, it is an anthology series that will tell diverse stories with one theme – of daredevil women who refused to be victims, and fought to be the writers of their own narrative.
‘Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam’ will be directed by British-Indian director Meenu Gaur. The series will consist of six stories of seven women, who wrest control of their lives from their male tormentors. The series has been written by Gaur and well-known Pakistani filmmaker Farjad Nabi. The series is set in the fictional town of ‘Androon Sheher’ and focuses on the fearlessness of women and their determination to avenge deceit. It will have elements of emotions such as love, ambition, revenge and revolution.
‘Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam‘ will star popular Pakistani stars such as Sanam Saeed, Sarwat Gilani, Mehar Bano,Ahsan Khan, Osman Khalid Butt, Sheheryar Munawar, Saleem Mairaj, Samiya Mumtaz, Faiza Gillani, Beo Raana Zafar and Eman Suleman. ZEE5 has launched several Pakistani-origin shows on its platform in the last year. ‘Chudails’ and ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar’ were the well-received ones.
As per a statement from Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 India, ”Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam’ is an invigorating show which portrays a never-seen-before side of female protagonists.” Shailja Kejriwal, Chief Content Officer – Special Projects, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said, ”Each story in the anthology showcases courageous, bold women who decide to take charge of things when their limits are pushed. These women are fatal to patriarchy and go several extra miles to seek what they want at any cost”.
Farjad Nabi added, ”Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam waves goodbye to the victim woman as seven femme fatales get their way through methods that are unexpected, sometimes horrifying, but always liberating”.
