Manoj Bajpayee and the OTT platform are a match made in heaven. The stellar actor, who never got his full due in mainstream feature films, is enjoying a recent resurgence in popularity, the kind that is the stuff of dreams. Anything he touches these days turns to gold – all of it in the streaming space, of course, what with cinemas shut since ages.
Now, ZEE5 has snagged the maverick Manoj Bajpayee for an exciting new project – a mystery thriller film titled ‘Dial 100’. The film premieres on ZEE5 Premium in August, with the final date yet to be announced. ZEE5 had earlier collaborated with Bajpayee for the highly appreciated murder mystery film, ‘Silence: Can You Hear It’.
Audiences will be stoked to know that Manoj Bajpayee is not the only impressive factor of Dial 100. The film boasts equally stellar performers, Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar, as Manoj Bajpayee’s co-leads. We don’t know about you, but it sure looks like a casting coup of sorts to us. Both Sakshi Tanwar and Neena Gupta bring to the board a compelling style of acting that has won them countless admirers over the years.
And now the most significant part of Dial 100 – the crew. The crew associated with Dial 100 is the shining star of the project. The film is written and directed by Rensil D’Silva, who has earlier made films such as Kurban and Ungli, and the series, 24; and written films such as Rang De Basanti, Aks, Student Of The Year, and Tamil hit, Thambi. As you can see, his credentials are impeccable. Dial 100 is produced by Siddharth P Malhotra, under his banner Alchemy Films. He’s earlier made films such as We Are Family and the acclaimed Rani Mukherjee starrer, Hichki. Dial 100 is co-produced by Sony Pictures India.
The thriller and mystery genre of the film is another advantage Dial 100 enjoys – it is the most popular content genre in the world, at present; more so, ever since the pandemic sent the world haywire. The just released motion poster of the film proves this beyond measure.
Accompanying the motion poster is the tagline,
“Get ready to witness a gripping thriller about one call and one night that will change lives forever.”
