So what actually does the calendar reveal? Lots, really. February brings with it an interesting melange of shows, films and real-time events. The streaming platform has strived to be ultra-inclusive, with the presence of content in all the popular regional languages in the OTT space. Along with Hindi language content, there’s interesting Tamil, Bengali, Marathi and Telugu content on the anvil.
Highly anticipated ZEE5 Hindi Original movies Operation Parindey and Shukranu will hit the platform in February. Also to drop in February is the much-awaited web series It Happened In Calcutta. The latter is a production in collaboration with ALTBalaji.
Regional is represented by Bengali – Hindi bilingual crime drama Judgement Day, Telugu Original crime-based web series Topless, and Tamil political drama drama, Chadarangam. The last is headlined by popular Telugu actor Srikanth.
In an interesting aside, ZEE5 will also live-stream two events of public importance – the Union Budget 2020, and the Delhi Assembly Elections. That’s certainly a very resourceful addition for those who want to watch the budget proceedings on the move.
As of now, the platform has announced two Bollywood movies that will be released digitally on ZEE5. They are Satellite Shankar and Commando 3. Other than that is the Marathi movie, Hajiri, to mark its digital premiere. There are several regional shows too that have been curated by the platform for viewers. And yes, an Oriya TV show too finds its way into the ZEE5 February lineup.
