ZEE5 has just announced its next Tamil show, titled ‘Sengalam’. The show comes on the heels of ZEE5’s successful Tamil offering, the social drama series ‘Ayali’, which received much love from audiences and critics. ZEE5 revealed the first look and the trailer of ‘Sengalam’, along with its release date. All episodes of the Tamil series premiere on ZEE5 Tamil on 24th March, 2023.
‘Sengalam‘ is a compelling family and revenge drama, which is set in the backdrop of Madurai. The show is rooted in Madurai culture, and centers on three brothers of an influential family, who are on a mission for revenge. ‘Sengalam’ also captures the intriguing dynamics of politics and power-play between them.
The ‘Sengalam’ trailer depicts violence, shootings and mayhem, in a blood-soaked tug of war for power. The series is described as Tamil content’s first political drama show. Politics is the over-riding theme of ‘Sengalam’, as can be seen from its 2&1/2 minutes long trailer.
The series stars popular Tamil actor Kalaiarasan in the lead, alongside actress Vani Bhojan. Sharath Lohistashwa, Viji Bhairavi Chadrasekhar, Shali Nivekas, Vela Ramamoorthy Bucks, Muthukumar, among others, form the rest of the cast. ‘Sengalam’ is written and directed by S. R. Prabhakaran.
