ZEE5’s new announcement promo for Abhay Season 2, released this afternoon, comes across as dark and dangerous, just like the platform promises Season 2 will be. Yes, along with the announcement promo, ZEE5 has also declared, in not so many words, that Season 2 will not be for the faint of heart. It will be darker, edgier and tenser than Season 1 ever was.
Kunal Kemmu looks imposing and impressive as he makes a comeback as Special Task Force officer Abhay Pratap Singh, who solves the most complicated of crimes by dint of his unrelenting persistence and nose for hunting down hard-core murderers. Intertwined with his determined pursuit of criminals is his own grapples with his inner demons and fears.
The promo is put together as a tightly-strung show-reel of chilling scenes and murderous antagonists from Season 1. There’s blood and gore aplenty in Season 1, and since the promo claims that Season 1 is darker and edgier, viewers can expect a more intense version of the same.
Abhay is a series that incorporates the currently trendy concept of true crime, with the age-old premise of police procedurals, in the best traditions of popular police and crime dramas.
ZEE5 hasn’t come up with a concrete date of release for Abhay 2 yet. All that the promo announces is that Abhay Season 2 is coming soon on the streaming platform.
